Hood is actually sort of a different thing altogether... mostly lo-fi rock that's sort of fucked up and very backwater feeling... a bit like some of the more coherent New Zealand noise scene bands. It's really nice, in my opinion (at least the record I have, whose title escapes me... it's and LP + 7"), but don't expect any IDM related things. However, the downpour 12" "Windstorms Broken Microphones" on Drop Beat is a member of Hood and it's pretty amazing. Much like the Third Eye Foundation - very fragile, sort of pretty drum and bass. Highly recommended. --- the humble abbott arthur purvis set his hand hereto --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

there is also a Hood remix ep out on drop beat. it has remixes by spymania, twisted science, third eye foundation and horse opera. this ep is wicked as hell. the spymania remix is blinding, and the third eye foundation is fantastic as well. so there is a idm link present. as far as the regular hood release they are in a vein all there own

i need to check some of this out, can you drop any names? as for hood recommendations, the cycle of days and seasons, (on domino) it almost has a dub feel in alot of the songs. this one has spent much time on the turntable.
