Hehe... I did this for a class last year, only I did a broader paper on electronic music as postmodern: Tracklisting for the accompanying CD-R: (limited edition 1/1) 1. Donna Summer - I Feel Love 2. Eric B & Rakim - Paid in Full (Coldcut remix) 3. DJ Ghetto - Ghetto on the Cut 4. Soul Oddity - Welcome Back to Earth 5. Autechre - Flutter 6. Beat System - Endlessly Downward 7. Kraftwerk - Computer World 8. T-Power - Mutant Jazz 9. New Order - Blue Monday (Hardfloor remix) 10. Prizna feat. Demolition Man - Fire 11. Steve Roach - In the Catacombs (Again) Aaron BleepbloopRadio. Thousand Words / Interface

Hrm. Aphex Twin: Digeridoo, Ventolin (if you want to deafen your teacher), ICCT Hedral, Girl/Boy Song, anything off of SAWII... Squarepusher: depends which Squarepusher we're talking about - the older, insane releases, or the newer, shittier ones. In any case, my vote is for Beep Street and Vic Acid... BoC: Hi Scores, for sure. Ae: Bleh. Anything. All sounds the same to me. :) Plastikman: I've heard too little. Cylob: Diof 97, Rewind. Bochum Welt: Asteroids Over Berlin, anything from Feelings On A Screen. superfuzz@home.com

Sam... Put Roybgiv, I believe that is the name of the track, on there. To me it represents the lush and creative, but yet familiar vibe, that some IDM artist have to offer------ 308!

Funny enough, I was sick today and stay home all day, so I decided to make an idm compilation of my own. I had asked the list like 2 months ago or so about some of their favourite tunes, and included some of the selection with some of my favourite. Here's the tracklisting: This is... IDM vol. 1 (Can't stop at just one :) 01. PLOD - MARKKINAL 02. AUTECHRE - SILVERSIDE 03. LINK - ARCADIAN 04. BLACK DOG - BABYLON (HAMMURABI) 05. POLYGON WINDOW - SUPREMACY II 06. FUTURE SOUNDS OF LONDON - CASCADE 07. PLASTIKMAN - PAKARD 08. I-F - SPACE INVADERS ARE SMOKING GRASS 09. PLAID - UNDONESON 10. TWO LONE SWORDSMEN - WE CHANGE THE FREQUENCY 11. LFO - TIED UP 12. SQUAREPUSHER - U.F.O.'S OVER LEYTONSTONE Total Time: 73:36 I plan to make my next compilation a more of a chill out compilation of idm tracks which will includes ambient stuff like Global Communication and down-tempo stuff like Fila Brazillia & the Pork gang. Also if there's any newbie or someone that would like a copy of the compilation, e-mail me and I'll give you info on how to obtain a copy (no profits to be made of course). And also if you would like to contribute some of your favourite tunes too, send them over. AtL-5

I'd go for these two for sure: Boards of Canada - Everything you do is a Balloon (from Hi-Scores ep). Simply the most sublime track ever. Also, Bochum Welt - Arnos Park (from Desktop Robotics). For some reason I've always preferred it to Asteroids Over Berlin. Don't know about Cylob though. Ross.
