Re: Benbecula Music @ www.benbencula.com Just received a fine cdr print of Phase 6's "Sunshine" today. I do recall someone on here mentioning Benbecula, they have a webpage available through EHX if you look closely. Well, this cdr is very peculiar in that it hints at the "poppy" side of idm, with a lot of experimental sounds focused on soothing electronica with a persistent beat backing up each track. Call it a mix between old school techno, and new school digital funk, this ep is also spread out with some electro elements here and there. Based in Edinburgh Scotland, Scott Carnegie (label head?) can be contacted through his website, or by sending an email to benbecula@bigfoot.com. I heard that Smallfish in London are stocking a few promo CD copies, maybe also try juno.co.uk as they always seem to stock most things I am after but I haven't had time to check it lately. Not quite... its being run with the backing of FatCat, but it actually being run by the Smallfish lot... namely.. Nick Smallfish! also Clair of Clear fame (now focus music/B12) is in their somewhere...
