Having a couple of Morr releases and realizing how hit and miss their production is (Isan = underwhelming, Kleine and Herrman = overwhelming, Accelera Deck = both, sometimes on the same side) how does the B. Fleischmann _Pop Loops for Breakfast _ album sound? I do enjoy the prominent spot melody commands on most of their releases (that I've heard), but unfortunately, sometimes, little else commends my attention to them. In other news, I found a review of _A Shocking Hobby_ in Rolling Stone to be humorous. Man the hatches, the IDM sub is going under ... And, as a third pointless point, are any good acts coming to Dallas/Houston or Atlanta this summer? I feel like taking a road trip with a purpose (for once). Anyone recall any info on Ashley Wales' forthcoming album of modern classical? Release date, record label? I can't remember what list I saw it on as a forthcoming title ... The B.Fleischmann 12" and LP in my opinion are very good. They have loads of nice melodic moments, and some really nice qlitchy beats. Its all quite minimal in that Morr Music kind of style. Well work checking out. I am surprised I haven't seem more about Morr Music on the list, they have been turning out some of the most interesting music of the last six months... Most notably the Phonem 'Phonetik' 12" that is one of my favorite releases of last year... waiting for my copy of the album to drop through the door any day now.... The recent Piano Magic remix 12" 'Panic Amigo' which features the breathtaking Future 3 remix, is well worth checking out, and also features remixes from isan, and Rephlex's Ensemble. And I believe that next up is a Tin Foil Star (them of isan split 10" fame) 12" release. - -- dan@madvision.co.uk www.madvision.co.uk [PGP signature removed] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I really, REALLY, like "Pop Loops for Breakfast". Reminds me a bit of Dettinger's "Intershop"... Also, I have a soft spot for the song entitled "Torn" which is included in remixed form as a hidden track at the end of the CD. Hess On Fri, 5 May 2000, James R McPherson wrote:

The B. Fleischmann releases are definitely my favorite Morr Music label releases and Poploops even made it into my tops of 99 list. Expect a droney isan or even a guitar- based solvent type sound. Check the websites listed below to hear some sound samples for yourself. . B. Fleischmann: poploops for breakfast cd/lp (Charhizma/Morr Music) Tracks: - slope - the flow - breakfast at rhiz - drops - the red saloon - nightly - le martin - s - slumber* - timid digestion* - chad f.* (* tracks exclusive to cd) . B. Fleischmann: sidonie mini-lp (Morr Music) Tracks: - sidonie - min sad star - min whirr - min - where have you been - min sleep You can hear RA bits from both B. Fleischmann releases at: http://www.mdos.at/labeldetail.php3?pid=1399 and, if you can read German, you can find more info on Fleischmann + 1 mp3 tracks at: http://www.charhizma.com -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

'Pop Loops.." could have been a lot better if Fleischmann had written the songs with the classic pop structure (verse/chorus/bridge instead of just chorus over and over) but i guess that's why it's called Pop Loops... From what i heard of Dettinger's Intershop I don't see any connection between the two albums. 'intershop' is like low key minimal stuff and 'Pop Looops..' is, well, pop loops. maybe i'm totally off as i didn't give dettinger a good listen... as for 'Torn' wouldn't that be a cover not a remix...(sorry for being anal :) Now Hrvatski's Pink Floyd track sound more like a remix than a cover to me..anyone else??? -- On Fri, 5 May 2000 02:26:16 Hess Hodge wrote:
