someone inquired about this show at the ottobar in baltimore.
basically, it kicked ass forwards, backwards and in between. didn't
care too much for the opening band (sorry... just a matter of 'taste')
but alex ripped the shit up with his set followed by mike (errr... kid)
and ryan finished things off while incorporating new t-shirt fashion
styles. three 'kids' and their laptops travelling around the states
playing small obscure clubs for close to nothing. (support the boys by
purchasing merchandise at concerts...) the lex CD is nothing less than
terrific (song 2 is SO damn catchy), and if you managed to get a copy of
the kid 606 'tour' CD (i think it's called 'i want to be in a gang') you
already know that he's drifting away from the DHR / gabber influence and
working more with dsp (there's that word again...) objects / patches. i
still have to pick up cex's CD, but from what i heard, his stuff his
pretty sweet.
best description of the show - computer mangled dance music (with a
sense of humor on the part of all three)
btw, how many people on this list live in the d.c. area? i'll be
'transplating' myself to the NW area (not too far from AU... yes,
they've actually got an audio production program) beginning next week
and would like to meet some people (outside of college... or maybe
inside) interested in 'destroying' sound by means of computer. (finally
got my G3! i'm officially a VERY VERY poor college student) melody,
beats, structure, etc... is very welcome as well. (if you happen to be a
'classical' musician interested in electro-acoustic stuff, that would be
great...) i'm interested in performing interactive audio / video shows
in the local area.
C, C++, Objective C, Pascal, Objective Pascal
pd... anyone on this list using pd? (sounds / looks damn interesting...
i'm not too good at unix / linux yet. oh yeah, miller puckette's a
genius. along with mark danks and friends... david zicarelli, gunter
geiger etc...)
.make.
idm revelance - absence of females in this genre is what hurts it the
most.
.bin.
i want to be just like YOU,
