Journeyman's "National Hi-Jinx" is way off the Woob mark - although you might enjoy Journeyman's "Mama 6" CD on NTone. Can't put my finger on a good description at the moment as I haven't played it in ages, but it had somewhat of a similar vibe to "1194" from what I recall. Problem is that it's way long gone (the second NTone release ever) and I only have a CDR myself. Would love to find the vinyl if anyone knows of a source (any takers?) Woob also put out a second CD, I think it was "4495" on Emit. This one didn't hit me like "1194" did though. From what I recall it was darker, less of a tribal percussive thing going on. Even some guitars in there as well. Bottom line: try and find a copy of "Mama 6", nicely toasted on CDR. If you can't track that down, I can always roll off a tape dub for you. Unless da Ninjas have a repress in the works - subtle hint, fellas :). Speaking of which, try and find a copy of the Irresistible Force's rmx. of "Autumn Leaves" by Coldcut - just rereleased on a ltd. 12". This one is *bliss*, I tell you...Brock _______________________________________________________________________________ Subject: woob From: substar@iafrica.com at ~DISNEY-SMTP Date: 7/20/99 1:54 AM On 19 Jul 99, Phillips, Brock wrote re: (idm) middle-eastern, middle-ton: WOOB:

I loved your spot-on description of this one - must go dig it out for a re-listen. I was *so* into it when I got it. I remember going jogging in Hermanus - a little spot up the coast we'd gone to for a weekend's whale watching - and early in the morning seeing two whales close to the shore while I had this on the headphones - really a moving experience. It was spiritual, kids!! :-) I'm sure it is hard to find these days, with em:t gone bust an' all. On the back of this I bought Journeyman's National Hi-Jinx, which is totally thoroughly different. Not shit, but just Paul Frankland in a different guise.
