I have been told that Philip Glass worked on some electronic compositions, without the aid of RDJ etc. Things like some video that he wrote the music for (re: the environment)... which I was told was an electronic piece... SO... Does anyone have any suggestions on Philip Glass electronic works? I am looking for things that he has done on his own... Or things not associated with RDJ or other such IDM'ers... thanks, phil

phil g. has been kickin' it for a long time, as many know. though definitely i , but not necessarily dm, his work with polyrock "above the fruited plains" from the early 80's is highly recommended. groovy guitar work in the early new order / love tractor vein. peeeeeeeeeece, np: common factor: king -- Jeff Davis pHlow@earthlink.net fn:216.533.6303 fx:216.266.2310 text:2165336303@mobile.att.net pHlow.linx: home.earthlink.net/~phlow/ Bochum Welt: www.bochumwelt.com Rotator Locator: hyperreal.org/music/rotator/

Very Eno(with lyrics)-esque sort of early Talking Heads feel to it. I REALLY wish I could track this down. I talked to Phillip at his A2 "Beauty and The Beast" show about 4 years ago and asked him about the possibility of re-releasing it. It was kind of amusing...there was a passle of very hifalutin' artsy types vying for Mr. Glass' attention as I mentioned this. Most of them had a look between "someone farted" and vultures waiting for a kill, but Phillip turned his full attention to me with childlike glee and went on and on about Polyrock for a good 10 minutes. The bottom line was "yes - I must get in touch with xyz and see what can be done. That record was quite ahead of its time". Anyone got a copy they'd like to sell? jeff "10,000 people all screaming the same thing at the same time are wrong, even if they're right." dancing/about/architecture "...with wandering steps and slow..."
