'the wind is strong, a sparrow dances piercing holes in our sky' - cindytalk 'la double vie de veronique' soundtrack - zbigniew preisner 'usonian dream sequence' - geoff farina 'hommages' - gavin bryars perhaps if this question could change to "is there any music which you don't see the point of sharing" then the answers could include all those guilty little fixations that persist from teenage years... ...or the fact that sometimes when you're alone all those abstract electronic soundscapes are abandoned for old Rush records.... ;-) Iain H.

Good Question, let me take a shot at it! First, for me it would depend on who it is! Many of U, I would share all music with, most people who live or reside in Indianapolis, HELL NO! Why, one may ponder! Simple---and please remember that Irene said on a "cosmic psychobabbly plane"(right up my fucking alley mind U)......... GENERALLY SPEAKING! People in Indianapolis, like many in America, are fickile and, on the morrow closed minded! Why let some one hear something so emotional as "Tear, Tear"--Ae, Amber, or "10 Days of Blue" John Beltran---when U can just about, just about i said---4 your technical people out there--know they are already closed in their listening. In this case its a waste of time. Of course there are a billion and 15 other scenarios---but this is the one that I deal with most. People who follow others, and never care for themselves enough to be able to say, "although X is my friend, and I know they dont like this music(or will tease me)----FUCK-em! I am listening to this for me, and not he/she"! This caterpolts me into mass media, and mass communication-----but I will just release the tension from the spring board and not go there. So, in conclusion, with people who are openminded enough to LISTEN & FEEL---and who have some interest---Yes---for those who follow the mass(& where I live U can just about tell them from their style of clothes they wear---trust me- many look the same)---Forget about it! Now, there are many generalizations in my messages and there usually are--no change by me----YET! But please whatever U do, if ya type me back regarding my statements, deal with the gerth or substance of my message, and not the generalization which I trying to make explicitly known.----What part of MASS--dont many understand? Hk-90!

I happened to share a lot of Porcini's "What Carmen Can Do" with people yesterday who didn't seem to appreciative. Though no one even had the guts to ask me to turn it down. Although my favorite CD to share with people (who won't like it) is Iannis Xenakis's "Kraanerg". No rhythms. No melodies. Just random staccato sounds from a wind and string ensemble. It even annoys me some.

There's one track that comes to mind that sort of fits the question - nanou by Aphex Twin (the music box one). It just seems so personnal that it's like he's playing it just to you, especially the wind up bit in the middle. Eddie

I had to think about this for a second, because there's some music that's pretty damn special to me. But no, there's not anything that I wouldn't want to share with someone...the music is special to me because it makes me <<feel>> something good and wonderful by listening to it. sometimes this is a feeling that I get only by listening to whatever 'special tune' is on. so if there's any chance that listening to it can do that for someone else, why the hell wouldn't I want to spread it around? lauren _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
