hey Mr. Graves thanks for the werd up. I wanted to mention another SO CAL artist who you will all be hearing about a lot more. Well from me you will be. Anyhow, the project is called L'usine. He has an upcomming release on ISOPHLUX i've been told. He's performed on a few ocassions at KUCI, CAL-ARTS, and some other small coffee shop type gigs. His music is definitely IDM for the comming milenium. While it does have the digital edge like many of the up n comming IDM artists who sound like Ae wanna-be's (which is fine IMO) Jeff's music has added little bonuses that make it his own sound. IF YOU LOVE MELODY, this is your guy. I haven't a clue what the title of the release will be and I've been told mid-MAY. However, knowing Isophlux, this means Mid-March 2000. If it were comming out mid-May, I'd hope to be hearing some talk about it now. L'usine is definitely an artist to keep an eye out for. one more from the SO CAL camp:) gilly c g wrote:

Hmm, I heard a plug for L'Usine on the TXraves mailing list... I think someone mentioned him being from Texas or something. Maybe in the past, and he moved. Ah well, speaking of records coming out soon, guess who is done with his appointment at the pressing plant today? :) More later. :)

I wanted to just take a moment and second what mr gilly spoke of. L'usine is ab fab baby. . .I saw him at this little coffee gig side note: was an unexpected show, i just happened to be craving some coffee. . .my friend and I went to this lil coffee shop. . .and all i have to say is WOW. . .i was runnin around for the next 20 minutes looking for a pen and paper so i could write down the info and check it out in stores. Needless to say my idm hating friend wasnt very happy. I had heard the release date was already pushed back to mid june though. . .but this could be simply an unfounded rumor :). The isophlux website has no info yet. . . And on the topic of the lexaunculpt 12". . . i have heard a few cuts off of it and loved it. Orange gets some serious props from me for pushin this. . . definately one of the best new artists to come out in a while (imho). Way to go guys, keep up the good work. . . .now to find myself a cd/mp3 version of it (for the table challeneged). As another side note, someone gave me this new album that appeared to be a Prodigy album. . . so I threw it in my desk for about 2 weeks until one day (when I left all my good stuff at home) I threw it in the player here at work. . .I was pleasantly surprised to find out it wasnt even prodigy. . . but Liam (who pretty much IS Prodigy minus the guitars and lame singing) doing some mixing. . . sounds like he used a few turn tables and maybe a sampler. . . but for a dj album it really isnt to shabby. . some nice mixes. I guess the label thought 'Hey, we can sell more if we call it a Prodigy album'. Has been mp3'd for anyone who wants a sampling. . drop me a line . . . .send all flames to /dev/null :) [Sn] <snip snip>
