(thinking of the EP on Void)? Beautiful > stuff... I think the Yunx track on 0161 is really cool. With regards to their ep on Void, I don't know I thought it was kind of disappointing. It was nice and melodic but it was either too bland or just didn't excite me at all. Perhaps my expectations were to high, I passed on it. _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com

speaking of which: wut the dilly wit YUNX anyhow? why does it sound EXACTLY like The Black Dog? a "source" informed me it isn't TBD, so it's obviously a blatant rip-off of their style. thoughts to share, anyone?

Yunx is a Manchester duo, Iain Law and Darren Taberner. In a press release they did for an earlier record they both clearly state that they are devotees to the Black Dog and Plaid sound. So call it a BD/Plaid rip-off or call it BD/Plaid- influenced. Either way, their releases are worth checking out if you enjoy the BD/Plaid sound. Their new ep on the Pitchcadet label is quite good too. -->-Lance--- mclance@nacs.net lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

This rises above a good deal of the fanboy chatter. Melody, some noise, intelligence, a nod to many genres w/o sounding derivative or trite. Don't let the low price/cdr mode scare you off from this one. It's delicious. I have 2 more Pitchcadet thingies here to slap in and check...but this one simply will not leave the player w/o an argument. jeff -- jeff "10,000 people all screaming the same thing at the same time are wrong, even if they're right." dancing/about/architecture "...with wandering steps and slow..."
