Hmmm, an interesting evening on monday ...
went to notting hill arts centre for the launch of nick warrens after hours
comp
its the first in a series from dmc where well-known djs choose their
afterhours selection
as the review says its not thunping or pumping and thank god for that
the album tracks are ok - that craig armstrong/elisabeth fraser track is nice
and the full-length autumn leaves too , as nominated by spiny norman as the
best track of all time
what was even better was his selections at the party
from bola and boards of canada to wunder, autechre, globcom and stina nordheim
i hear music like this all over the planet but not in the uk
and especially not from big name djs who play at cream etc
so .... i was pleasantly suprised!!! an unlikely source for an ambient
revival ....
Whatever next, rephlex at cream?
Oh, that's happening in February .....
