I love the 0161 comp now, were the YUNX and Datathief trax ever available on vinyl. For that matter where any of the trax on this CD on 12"es. My guess the Jega, Bola, Gescom were SKAM releases, no? Then again, I think I have all the Gescom released on SKAM and the "Two of" track doesn't ring a bell, maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, I think the JEGA, YUNX, DATATHIEF trax are slamming and I'd love to have them on vinyl (cuz CD's suk) to work into my DJ'ing (I suck, but it's mad fun!) gilly

I believe most, if not all of the tracks on 0161 are previously unrelased. But i had another Yunx record that i reviewed back in 1996. It didn't have the track from 0161 on it but it was still excellent. Below is the Recoreview... . Yunx: Bill Odessey 12" (Void) The Void label is very loyal to the black dog & plaid "sound" and this four tracker keeps that "sound" going. The a-side features two tracks of string laden rhythmic techno reminiscent of Bytes era Black Dog Productions. The b-side, with it's polyrhythms and jazzy synths sounds more like "spanners" era Black Dog Productions. If you like the BDP releases of old this 12", and most other Void label 12"s are for you. 9/10 btw: Yunx is Manchester duo Iain Law and Darren Taberner. I've heard that they did a remix on the Pacific label but i don't remember the name of the record offhand. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
