None of the places that I knew had MASK 400 had MASK 300 in, and I e-mailed them at the first instance it was mentioned on this list, so where did all these people who have it get it from? Did you write to SKAM direct or something. A lot of places had the frisbee though, and that was limited to 250 copies. BABY DIDDY ___________________________________________ "Stupid dance music"

A lot (well, two) of places in Manchester still have the frisbee. It's not exactly top of my list of essential purchases. Not for 12UKP anyway. Nick

By the time I saw Mask 300 listed on some price sheets, it was ALREADY sold out. In previous discussions about limited editions, the idea that groups put out ltds. for financial reasons was heavily totted. However, if you put a few hundred records and it becomes obvious that 1000 people want 'em, it seems everybody loses out (except the geezers who were quick enough to hit the "reply" button on the pre-order mailer). It is especially annoying since a large number of folks said that Mask 400 sucked (the largest quantity in the series). I'll be glad to see the end of MASK. Of course, there is probably a limited SKAM yo-yo/3" CD package in production right now. :=(

I got MASK 300 in last week from a source that chooses to remain anonymous and I must say its quite stunning! Even the vocal track is right on and the record as a whole is quite impressive. Id be happy to digitize it for people who missed out on it provided that: A- It truly is sold out everywhere else B- Its ok with 'powers that be'. That is, I know on a V/VM record they say you can do what you want once its limited sales stock has been depleted (mp3, CDR). I dont mind helping out the folx who missed out on this, but I know some of the artists associated with this release tune into this list now and again and I dont wanna shoot my mouth off about how Im going to copy their work if its against their wishes. My karma is bad enough working at a warplane-factory so Im trying to pay more attention to 'little' stuff like this. ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-1156 Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems Fort Worth, Texas

I'm not sure how long Greg has been back on the list, but I see he hasn't lost the 'sense of humor' (for lack of a better) term... So why are you back Greg? Didn't you have enough IDM torture last time around? Or maybe you're here to see how much mp3 trading goes on... BTW the last few Warp records (TJ, TLS) have been nice... just observing Nate On Fri, 30 Oct 1998, Greg Eden wrote:

Hmm.. Id really consider it for the AFX - ON remixes. I cant seem to find that one at all!! Let me see how big the mailing boxes are at my post office, the last time I used one of those cardboard tubes to send a B-2 it got pretty banged up on the way. Seriously, I didnt know what the SKAM/MAS policy was on copying these MASK releases. If my memory serves me correctly NO WHERE on the record does it state that copying it is prohibited, but I figured Id better ask first on the IDM list. The hyper-limited V/VM records dont seem to care, BUT I KNOW that labels like WARP *do* care and thus Id never do anything to piss ya'll off or even cut into your profits. I've sat through several mp3 debacles on this list and I want no part of any trouble. I have no point to make and I dont wanna break any laws (even if they are stupid). Hell, to be honest I dont even care what the labels think as much as I dont want to offend the artists themselves. No artists=No labels Again, the message wasnt "Red-hot mp3s, who wants em?" it was "is hooking my mixer up to my G3 to copy MASK300 a good idea???" Im guessing now its not a good idea so forget it. I dont see the advantage to possibly annoying people and organizations who have brought me so much joy through their music. a fan, *not* a pirate ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-1156 Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems Fort Worth, Texas

my post was more a whimsical friday afternoon thing than a serious analogy. warp's policy on mp3s is if you take the piss then expect consequences, don't kill golden geese, two birds in a bush, right, having this right old barney ::greg ::www.warprecords.com

whew! didnt expect that response at all. I almost thought I was going to have to spend my record money on lawyers. THAT WOULD cut into WARP profits, trust me, I could support a mistress with the money your music removes from my income! Ill send you a poster of a stealth bomber for not suing me. to quote Ninja Phil: -<STEALTHY>- but not wealthy!!! ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-1156 Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems Fort Worth, Texas
