What's up every one?! First of all I want to thank all of you for you support of Clock Wise and the success of the Crossed Wires compilation and the Delarosa 12" Now Clock Wise is ready to release CW Number 5!! Johnny Ether Free Radical Generator which is a mish-mashing of influences from drum & bass to dub to improv jazz to Sufi rhythmic classical Indian music. the end result is an album of organic beats, dark vocal samples, and textured ambience. There is also an extended live track from an improv jam at the Sound Lounge during the Atlanta arts festival which included Johnny, Josh Brown on Sitar and J.Stroke (another clock wise pioneer!) on turntables. and to make this record even more cool, there is a hidden delarosa remix of one of Johnny's earlier pieces. The release party will be at MJQ-Concourse on Thursday, October 8 Johnny will play live with accompaniment by Joshua Brown on Sitar, Russ on bass, and J. Stroke on turntables. Bobble will be a special guest DJ that night and Executive Projects will showcase their acclaimed visuals. Hello, This is just another friendly reminder of Johnny Ether's release party tomorrow at MJQ. It should kick off around 11pm. There will be a live spam jam featuring Johnny, Sitar player Josh Brown, exceptional bassist Russ, and abstract turntablist J. Stroke (of other clock wise records fame) Bobble will be the night guest DJ. Executive Projects will be the guest visual artists. And the regularly scheduale Tokyo FM crew will pick it up drum & bass style for the late night action. Then to make it a real night of non-stop fun, we're all going to head over to Kaya for Mark Farina's dawn-breaking set. I hope those of you who are local will be joining us, for those that aren't, The CD will be released outside of Atlanta in January. You can order advance copies from the clockwise website. http://www.clockwiserecords.com (BTW I have just changed to URL to my website so those of you the have it bookmarked, please make a note) About the CD: There are 6 original tracks by Johnny that span from the smooth downtempo to the hard-edged drum & bass, with lots of layering and organic instrumentation. Track 7 is a live piece recorded at the Sound Lounge during the Atlanta Arts Festival. Originally the piece was over an hour and a half long, but we've edited down to 20 minutes. The piece features Johnny on keyboards, Josh Brown on Sitar, J. Stroke on Turntables, and Tommy Cason doing the electronic twiddling and tweaking. Track 8 (which is the hidden/bonus track) is an experimental remix of one of Johnny's earlier tracks by Scott Herren aka Delarosa. (if your stereo suddenly sounds like it might get up and walk away, that's Scott's track) I am really excited about this release. The production is top quality, the graphics (designed by Rahul Odera) are beautiful, and the music is passionate and seductive. At the party I will be the one selling the CDs ($10@) so be sure and say hello. peace carter ......................................................................> Clock Wise Records carter@clockwiserecords.com http://www.clockwiserecords.com
