sorry to hear that people had bad experiences with some of the tobin/sharp/mmmorris shows - the one in DC last friday got three thumbs up from me, even with the drive from NC and back. amon tobin went on at midnight, followed by sharp (1.30-3) then mixmaster morris from 3-5am. all were highly enjoyable. amon tobin played what sounded sort of like a kool keith track - the acid was just starting to come on and I couldn't quite place it, the lyrics seemed to be in a kool keith vein but the voice was different. any ideas? maybe roots manuva (never have heard any). I enjoyed jonah sharp much more than I thought I would, he did some nice things within the bounds of a steady pulse, even some electo/vocoder-ish sounding stuff. when mixmaster morris was done people were lying down on the dancefloor. there were some djs from cream in the main room, but I only ventured in there for a minute or so. $9 admission too. some guys from cloudwatch were supposed to be spinning ambient(?) outside on the deck, but couldn't get a PA. what's up with that? e
