My first introduction via a press kit from Dutch East. Does this description sound a bit like Stefan Betke's musical approach as Pole? Sounds interested..

RADBOUD MENS Cli,ck NM049 (cd) UPC: 1753-32909-2 Radboud Mens started artschool in 1988 doing "audio-visual" and "painting". He made "noise-machines", sculptures that make noise, and was sent out to follow a course in Sonology and Audio-art at the Conservatory in Utrecht for a year. He completed artschool in 1993. After that he completed an education in audio- engineering Currently Radboud Mens is working as a sound-engineer at The Centre of Electronic Music in Amsterdam. He does work there for different composers, cleaning up their masters and samples, removing digital clicks from DAT tapes and analog clicks from samples they take from records. He saved all these clicks into a seperate folder. After finding that these clicks all sound different, He came up with the idea of using them to create music with. He started making all sorts of rhythm patterns and added bass-kicks to them. Because the clicks are very short, the music becomes very transparent and "open". He did all this music using a computer running ProTools, no effects! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
