Hoo Boy. Swervedriver played in Iowa City last night and were absolutely wonderful. They are one of the few bands who seem to be wringing some new sound out of the git-bass-drums sound, and they do it with what I can only term 21st century art songs. I recommend them highly. They will be at the Concert Cafe in Green Bay WI tonight, Minneapolis Tuesday night at the 400 bar, after which they're going to play the trans-canada highway (Saskatoon, Regina, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver) details at www.zero-hour.com. Definitely not IDM, but if it's any consolation, Alan Oldham (DJ T1000) is a huge fan, along with quite a few other Detroit techno heads...

Swervedriver are indeed great. I'd highly reccomend all their CDs. Never got a chance to see them live but I get the impression that they'd be great. IDM is about the last place I thought I'd see a thread about them though. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand..."
