This is an old topic for sure, but I've been listening to my Brad Stryder records a bunch lately & was struck with a question. At the Rephlex web page, in the discography section, it says under "Bradley's Beat" the following: "there are two commercial versions with different tracks as 'part two'." I've managed to get both commercial versions &, true enough, there are different songs on the second side, but does stating that there are 2 "commercial" versions imply that there are even more versions, non-"commercial" versions, like promos or something like that? Anyone know? Marc Poirier

The real question is: What's the difference between the two 12s? Is the artwork any different, basically how do you tell them apart? And is one more difficult to get than the other? -- Ben Coffer http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

I dunno, but speaking of conclusion jumping.. here's a crazy theory on why RDJ is re-releasing all of his old Rephlex material.. This is just some wild random thought.. and doesn't have much factual basis, well some.. Lately after the release of Come to Daddy, Richard D. James has said that he is no longer interested in making music.. true he said this many times before, but this time he seemed to be a little more serious about it, saying that it took way too much of his time up, etc.. That was in some thing someone posted to here a while ago about it being in some article.. but anyway.. suddenly RDJ is re-releasing all his old records.. First AB3, then AB4, then the Joyrex's.. the only thing that's left to re-release is Q-Chastic right? at least that's the only record left on Rephlex, besides the AB5 promo.. Anyhow my thought on this is that what if he is doing this in order to keep the fans at bay with something to buy, keep them excited by repressing hard to get stuff.. after all, on Warp, he MUST release a new album, it's under contract.. but he IS rephlex, so he can basically do whatever the fuck he wants.. ..and then once his Warp contract runs out he might stop making music or so.. Just a random thought.. and the day that Q-Chastic gets re-released will be the new judgement day :) Since the question to the existance of it will finally be answered heh. I was telling this to someone in IRC about Q-Chastic and he said he thought the same exact thing.. but I dunno what to think about it still, coz my best mate says that he has seen it and heard it, and that it's a 2x10" white label, that just says cat 002 on it.. and then someone else told me his friend had it, and that it was a 2x7" orange coloured vinyl. So who's telling the truth? I would trust my mate more than some guy who just floated in #aphextwin. and my mate was also able to identify the track "Q-Chastic" as being the first track on Q-Chastic EP without ever having heard the track before.. I described it to him :) __ __\ \ / /_\ \ \_____/ "..in whatever you do, if you can't break new ground, what's the point?" - James Cameron

Yeah but CAT-002 is the Q-Chastic track from The Philosophy of Sound and Machine according to my friend.. I don't doubt it's existance, I believe my friend.. but I also believe a lot of people are using it's "doubtfullness" to take the piss. __ __\ \ / /_\ \ 1cQ<->uIN \_____/ 1.3777993 "..in whatever you do, if you can't break new ground, what's the point?" - James Cameron
