that it's so bloody predictable. Grrr.....you can predict when the beats gonna stop...there's gonna be some people who want to raise their hands in the air while some strings play, there's going to be a snarerush, the beat is going to kick back in.....and this happens with almost every... single....darn...tune. And people enjoy this? <<< Uh, yeah, because that music is not about making things interesting for you to listen to at home... it's about crowd participation. Apples and oranges... who the hell are you to say that people having fun at a club following these predictable turns are wrong to enjoy it? Maybe predictability makes it easier for the crowd to participate. For an example closer to home, I love Autechre, but I gotta admit, Simon Reynolds has a tiny bit of a point when he compares them to autistics or idiot-savants (his article in _The Clubcultures Reader_). But he's trying to valorize a scene where Ae don't fit... again, apples and oranges. Context, context... J ________ \ / | "Who's Martha Stewart?" H. who's to say? that's a bit of a blanket statement. it's unhelpful, even though i generally agree with your other points. <waves> np - devil's haircut afx mix
