Just thought some of you might like to know that Techno Animal's _Demonoid_ EP is available now on Grand Royal in the U.S. I just picked it up on vinyl (the only format it's on according to the record store clerk) and it's the best thing from J.K. Flesh/K. Mart (i.e. J. Broadrick, K. Martin) in awhile. To sweeten the deal, there are contributions by Porter Ricks and Alec Empire. Huzzah! ::: Techno Animal - Demonoid [Grand Royal GR050] A1. Demonoid (assisted by Porter Ricks) A2. Oil King B1. Mindbender B2. Atomic Buddha (assisted by Alec Empire) notes: Scratch production by DJ Headcrash Demonoid and Atomic Buddha are extracts from the LP _Techno Animal vs. Reality_ on City Slang Deutschland aside: I know I've heard "Mindbender" before. Where else has this track appeared? Maybe it's a remixed version of another one of their tracks. This is driving me crazy trying to pin it down! If you like plodding, downtempo beats with a distortion shell this is for you. Plus some acid bits and scratching are thrown in for good measure. I would have to agree that this is a fine EP. For some reason, "Mindbender" conjurs an image of a truck repeatedly smashing into a concrete wall. I also saw a two-song Demonoid 12' with a cut that wasn't on the Grand Royal disc. Any data on this? At 11:41 AM -0700 2/4/98, Eric Frans wrote:

Weird coincidence: the newest Grand Royal issue (#6) has a feature story (and a 1998 calendar) on demolition derby.

Maybe that's the Demonoid 12" that came out on City Slang? I don't own that one so I can't confirm it... E r i c F r a n s epf@internetconnect.net [subvox music] http://www.azstarnet.com/~subvox

Sounds right. I believe the b-side is a track called "Animalized". Perhaps it will apear on T/A vs. Reality? Greg

The other demonoid release is on City slang. One side had demonoid <the porter ricks track> the other side had a track that was originally by dj. vadim. Not sure of the title. Think it was called animalized. A read somewhere that porter ricks and dj vadim sent these tracks to techno animal and he had his way with them. Kinda like a collaboration in spirit. -daniel

OK, so soes anyone know if this is the same track as "The Breaks (T-A mix)" on the Vadim album? Greg
