hey all! We're throwing a rave tentatively for May 30th in Calgary AB Canada. We're getting very weary of the tired rave cliche and we want to try some new things, such as have a lot of crazy, experimental yet danceable music. I always wonder if people dance to Autechre, for example. I would, but I've never been to a party/rave where they played anything that is even close to the stuff discussed on this list. I did some occasional dj-ing in the past (with normal four-on-the-floor junk), but I got really tired of that. I've never heard Autechre at a party/rave before.. but I _did_ hear a Squarepusher track once. "Tundra" from Feed Me Weird Things, I think it was. People seemed to be enjoying it and they danced just as much for Squarepusher as they did for the normal jungle.. The whole set was pretty good.. lots of noisy jungle.
