:-) Well spotted Aran :-)
For those who aren't aware, the above is none other than Gil
Gershman (gg2g4ink@sprynet.com) who recently sent us all that totally
ridiculous "(idm) gaze into the mirror" post, and claimed he was
un-subbing from IDM-L. What a plonker...
What makes his ramblings even more ludicrous is that not too long
ago he could be found waxing lyrical on alt.music.indie about the
wonderful talent of groups such as The Boo Radleys (!). See the
following post for a good example:
---start---
From: Gil Gershman (BisonBoy@AOL.COM)
Subject: Re: Fiedler and the Radleys
I read that playing cello for the Boo Radleys is probably one thing
she will never be asked to do again. Apparently, she told Martin Carr
that she could play the instrument. When they went to record she was
only able to play a few usable notes. The ever resourceful (and ever
brilliant) Boo Radleys were able to work those few notes into their
sonic warp n' weft. And "Giant Steps" is so much more than a Sgt.
Pepper tribute/remake that people who say that couldn't be much
further off track. It's a "Pet Sounds" remake too. And a "Loveless"
remake. and a "Yerself is Steam" remake. and a "Revolver" remake. and
an "Everything's Alright Forever" remake. and it's completely
wonderful. :-)
Gil

Now let's hope he disappears into the bowels of the 'underground'
scene and never bothers us IDM-ers again.
Happy New Year everyone,
Aca
