I would qualify as biased as I used to work at Asphodel, but I'll highly recommend 75 Arks path. For the debut Anti Pop Consortium release, "Tragic Epilogue" alone, 75 Ark should cut it well.Though its too early in the year for predictions, I'll bank this into indie Hip Hop release of the year and would be suprised if anything touches its depth. I could'nt think of a better. more original, yet true Hip Hop album to come around in a long time. Noisy, dark, dirty, real, honest, tight, funny, creative, heavy*heavy* shit. If you find the vinyl 12" of "Lift" , the b side "Fuck Rap" should be a good indoctrination to APS as well. This track, unfortunately, is *not* on the full length and is their diamond. As far as Tipsy's return, I dunno. Peter np: Section 25- The Key of Dreams Date: Thu, 9 Mar 2000 13:21:12 -0500 To: <idm@hyperreal.org>, <greg@stainedproductions.com> From: "L. I already did my rave about 'Tragic Epilogue' on here, but I'd just like to stress my agreement with what's written above. It's one of very few releases in the past 12 months that's hit me as fresh sounding. Not that there haven't been other great releases, just that this hits me as a truly distinct approach to its genre. I also picked up the ep on Black Hoodz (subsidiary of Wordsound) which was surprisingly staid, musically. Still bonkers lyrically and flow-wise. I notice (it was posted on this list, in fact :) that Beans from the Anti-Pop Consortium has an ep coming out on a Mo'Wax imprint (something like Vecta??) called 'Nude Paper'. I wonder whether that's the same 'Nude Paper' as turns up on 'Tragic Epilogue', and how that works... Michael np.
