probably way behind on this one, but i just picked up the Delta Files
CD. as soon as i heard all the nifty neato "crunchies" (as i like to
call them) on track one, i pretty much "fell" for this disk. basically,
it's great. the music itself is a bit on the dark side, but the
drum/rhythm/noise programming is so addictive and "driving," making the
final tone quite upbeat in an unusual way. great to work to, lounge to,
drive to, and some tracks have a decent "danceability" factor. i
purchased this along with AB3. i guess i'm either not in the aphex/afx
mood right now, or the AB3 was a bit of a disappointment. couldn't
really find anything outstanding about this disk. i'd rather pay
$14-$16 for a re-issued 3 song disk that kicks ass, than a 13/14 song
disk full of mediocrity. but it's impossible to expect an artist to
release brilliance after brilliance, so i don't regret picking this up.
and besides, it's just music. not the end of the world. (at least for
me...)
