I was reading an older issue of Mondo 2000 last night and ran across a number of ads for releases that I haven't heard too much about. I was wondering if anyone could "enlighten" me on any of these and maybe give a mini-review or quick summary? Possibly(?) IDM-related: BIOTA - Object Holder THIRD RAIL - Southdelta Spaceage (Antilles) SPICELAB - Spicelab (Undercover Music Group) NUS - All the Verticle Angels AIYB DIENG - Rhythmagick (Subharmonic) POLYVALENT IMMEDIA - Iron Eye (Subharmonic) JUNGLE/DRUM N' BASS related: ENEMIC VOID - Equations TEK9 - It's Not What You Think It Is BILL LASWELL - Drum n' Bass/Jungle (Sub Rosa) BTW this list is great. I enjoy reading it everyday. I think it's great that it's MORE than just music and or about a handful of bands/groups/D.J.'s etc. It's the ONLY list that I have not unsubscribed to within a week or a few days for that matter. I've noticed a few people bitching about too many unreleated posts' or just too many e-mails to read..............I suggest you subscribe to the digest version of IDM and then just read through the subject line and go from there. With that in mind, hopefully everyone will make the subject line relevent to the topic and hand here. Gotta' go. Jazzy drum & bass with a live, improvised, spry feel. I can't say I listen to it very often, but I do consider it a good record.

Shit hot downtempo record from Dego of 4 Hero. Thoroughly blows away Nightmares on Wax, most NinjaTune stuff, most Mo'Wax stuff, etc. Comes with a bonus disc of older Tek 9 jungle tracks. Highly recommended. BTW, was the new 4 Hero album released this week? I can't disagree with this more strongly..... I gave "It's not..." several listens, but found the tracks lifeless beatfodder. Nightmares on Wax's "Smoker's Delight" on the otherhand is one of my favorite downtempo trip hop records of all time. It's just so damn cool.... and does anything get better than Ninjatune's recent Up Bustle and Out record? I don't think so. Aaron np: kumo (airbag)

I write: Uh, I picked up the new EP (Earth Pioneers) last night, it's good, a nice mixture of 'live' sounding dnb, along with some tweaked shit per the 4Hero of old. Looking forward to the full lenght... Nate Nate Harrison Digital Magician Inc. www.digimagician.com nate@digimagician.com 313.994.7316
