check this shit out 5-ZIQ:Astralwerks, in association with N2K and Music Boulevard, will launch a web page that will allow 5-Ziq fans to choose the tracks for his next EP. On November 10, Astralwerks will put snippets of seven tracks (1 min, 30 sec) up on our web site where fans will be allowed to choose 3 of 4 tracks for the vinyl 12" and 5 of 6 tracks for the cd. N2K's Groove Lounge will host a page that will link to the music tracks and allow visitors to their site as well, making two sites available. Both pages will be open for access and voting until January 1, 1998. At that time, all of the votes will be tabulated and 5-Ziq will take the most popular tracks and create the running order. By February 1, Astralwerks and N2K's Groove Lounge will make this EP available for direct digital delivery, by downloading via Music Boulevard, N2K's online music retailer. This direct delivery will precede the EP's physical release on Astralwerks in early April 1998. This release will be exclusive to Astralwerks. <mB.twenty-first century soul. <mikebee@freenet.tlh.fl.us.

So I guess Mike has taken note of all the quality control criticisms :) I think he should take it one step further ... get inet peoples to send in their own artwork , and track names etc. :)

i think that is rather stupid. who would want to download an entire album, and they can't even play it anywhere but from their computer (unless they have a CD burner... but..)? i think paradinas should just choose himself now and then the release date won't be pushed into april.. and also i don't think that "U-Ziq will take the most popular tracks and create the running order"... perhaps someone at astralwerks will do the numbers instead? :) chris graves

I do have a CD burner. I probably will try it.

Whatever. this is an experiment, and kind of a cool one.

I doubt that would make any difference. Since he just had an album and a single released within the last couple of months, I doubt that Astralwerks will want to release any new material unless it's more remixes or singles off the current album. Wouldn't want to "oversell" his popularity like the spice (sic) girlz (sic). -- jr

that's why "My Little Beautiful" was never released on Astralwerks (although I have heard of promo 12"s of it), and the import ban was put on (but thanks to a few pals over the pond...) DJ ORION is the guy in charge of the Mu-Ziq project (as they called it over there at Astralwerks) and said that releasing the "M.L.B." single would have hurt sales on "U.B.T." so they were going to use those tracks for "some other project." hope it's not going to be disguised as the "Internet"-EP (previously UNRELEASED material... previously unreleased in the U.S. or everywhere!? hmmm)
