NME Vibes section this week or last week has a page-long interview with Plaid, with a picture to boot. I think it's the first time I've actually seen a picture of their faces - I saw them live in SF a while ago but didn't remember what they looked like. Not that it matters when it comes to enjoying the music, obviously. Anyways, some interesting paraphrased quotes: - They seem to enjoy working and touring with Bjork. If their production work was mishandled as Ken suggested, they seem to be hiding any bitterness pretty well. - All the gear used by the Black Dog was at Ken's place (does that mean Black Dog Towers?), and Ed and Andy were too much of "wusses" to go back and get some of it for themselves, so the Plaid boys had no gear at first, which is partly why they resorted to doing a lot of collaboration work so they could pay for new machines before starting work on the album. - They hold no grudges towards Ken. They did say Ken wanted Black Dog to stay very tight i.e. stay away from collaborations with other folks (like that Anti-Cylob lady). Ed and Andy didn't share this attitude towards collaborations, so for example on Not For Threes they worked with three guest vocalists. Any comments, Ken? I'm not taking sides or trying to tick you off. I think both camps make brilliant music, although admittedly Music for Adverts took a long time for me to get into, and Not For Threes is rather disappointing. Also, are there artists / vocalists you would want to collaborate with?
