Hello, Found a CD the other day by Marco Passarani on Hymen and was wondering what exactly it sounds like. I saw him "play" his laptop at Speak in Tongues late last year in Cleveland, but wasn't too impressed. How does his recorded material compare? Any sort of description would be much obliged thanks ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

He seems to have lots of different music and this is rather dark stuff. Hard and distorted dowmtempo beats plus dark string themes (along with some ambient interludes). Speedy J's "Public Energy #1" or Disjecta sometimes come to mind, but Passarani is a bit more emotional, especially the beginning of the album. I wonder what his Italian releases sound like. His track on the Nature compilation is my favourite (very warm and beautiful, typical "Italian style" IDM like Bochum Welt and Mat-101) and I was a little disappointed when I heard "UFO".
