Here we go again... Natural Rhythm was composed strictly from the video sources that you see in the video. I'm sure any relation in sound to Beaumont Hannant is by coincidce only. Jon and Matt are not ones to borrow from such obvious sources. Trust me, when they find a break it's going to be from a more obscure source than GPR. Also, a reminder for all in N.Y. We are launching the new Coldcut record at Other Music this coming Monday at 9:00 P.M. It's the first time the record will be available to the public (well except for those stores that don't heed our release dates). Also, anyone there for CMJ that is trying to get in to our Saturday night show with a badge at Wetlands...show up really early becuase space is limited. Take Care Ninjas

ok. I don't own the Coldcut track, but when listening to "A Summer Spent", on Hannant's Texturology, the rhythm sounds VERY similar. Someone back me up here... But, I don't hear any place in the the track where Coldcut could have sampled it...maybe they just got the idea from here, maybe not... I didn't mean disrespect or anything. People are always sample spotting around here on idm... andy

Yea, I hear it too. it's only close though, by no means the same. Mainly the rhtyhm in the "ch ch ch ch" sounds, and it's not even the same sound. It could be an inspiration, or it could be co-incidence. I wouldn't think there'd be any grounds for a court case :) PS thanks for inspiring me to dig this album out :) np: texturology (of course) J ^ Steady J aka James Skilton steady-j@geocities.com Autechre & SKAM discogs @ http://subnet.virtual-pc.com/~sk393820

Could someone tell me the sample that luke vibert used on big soup; the human beatbox on "Original Soundmaster". I think it's the same sample that paradinas used on the first or second track on "Lunatic Harness".. ...any new releases from vibert since big soup? /hroi

Actually, according to an interview i read the beatbox sample on Lunatic Harness is from a mate of mike's at college who he recorded way back when and finally got around to using... -Fresh.

I've read in a magazine about the source of the "Lunatic Harness". I read it right from Paradinas' mouth so don't believe any of that shit the IDM folks tell you from their experience. Mikey P said that he taped a guy doing his human beatbox stuff in college, and Mike really didn't like the guy, and he doesn't want to say anything more about the sample otherwise the guy will want royalties. Mike also said that he shouldn't delve too much into the sources of the other samples on "Lunatic Harness" because he could get into trouble, he said even more trouble than the beatbox guy. Rusty
