The Ae remix is great (as always), the panasonic remix is a definite standout track for Vanio & crew, and the rest is good quality structured noise. Another winner in my book. yum. I wrote: Scumtron has got to be the most tolerable Merzbow release I've heard (of course I haven't heard all 200+ of his releases yet). It's accessibility brews from its variety. I particular like the fifth track with the incredibly high pitched screeches that makes it feel like you're bleeding out of your ears... I think it's the fifth track (Don't have the cd. in front of me). I will agree that the Ae mix is nice (reminiscent of Chiastic Slide), but it kind of feels out of context with the rest of the release. It almost (dare I say) too polished, which is awkward when dealing with every bodies favorite japanoise artist Masami Akita. At least the Panasonic remix is much more grittier. Anyways, I have high recommendations for this one too. Lots of nice academic noise, some japanoise ear-boxing shit, and few techno-esque tracks for good measure. In case anybody was wondering, it's on Mute/Blast First. t.S.o.G. np: Percy Faith's greatest hits.
