. Globus Mix Vol. 4 - The Button Down Mind of Daniel Bell mix cd
Tresor is proud to present Daniel Bell in his first-ever DJ CD-mix,
having previously featured in the "Globusmix" series Detroit's
Blake Baxter and Berlin's own Rok and Mitja Prinz.
In compiling this fourth installation to the Globusmix series, Bell
recruited the deepest sounds out there: represented and with
respect are Herbert, Nick Holder, Anthony "Shake" Shakir,
Thomas Brinkmann, and even Die Sterne not to mention the two
tracks by Bell himself. Bell's longtime relationship with the Berlin
scene is noted via Hard Wax's Main Street imprint and Lo Soul .
The mix works an excellent blend of the Daniel Bell and DBX
flavors, stripped-down and minimal with a relaxed tempo overall,
but an irresistable and thorough groove capturing the deep-
evening flavor of Bell's own club sets. Beginning with stark
Techno structures, crisp in texture but still warm with emotion,
and building with dry tension and contrast, the soundscape
evolves into sensual House with sweeping melodies of synth
and vocal work.
Bottom line, Daniel Bell redefines the word "cool". The DJ has
put in nothing artificial or unnecesary, the listener gets out
everything you can imagine.
