I know I'm going to seem like a right moaning bastard but I think some people (especially newbies to the list) should read this.

No disrespect to you phil, but it is possible to have more than one debate on the list. I think many of us here agree that the IDM list is changing for the worse as time progresses, and it was for this reason that our Warp connection (greg) has been lost. No more Warp info posts. Phil's post was just the sort of thing that this list is about, you know - discussion of music, but can you imagine ALL the posts being about vinyl vs cd? That thread was interesting the first time I read it, but now after 2 and a half years of reading it I'm getting pretty sick of it. And then somebody apologises for posting something that isn't vinyl vs bloody cd! Everybody is entitled to start whatever thread they want, but please have respect for other people on the list and realise when the thread has been taken too far. I love moaning ;-) -Ed (putting on his asbestos suit) P.S. why the hell is the Drexciya 2XCD such shit quality? It sounds like they threw the whole thing together by dubbing it off a cheap record player, and Wavejumper actually jumps! P.P.S. Lunatic Harness is fantastic. I'd love to know why he called one of the tracks "London".

It's not that bad, certainly better than a lot of things pressed to vinyl/CD, like say Gerald's Black Secret Technology. I think it sort of adds to the mystique of the Drexciyan sound...who knows maybe they went swimming w/their masters before they reproduced them:) I don't know if it's this 2CD set in particular, because if you listen to their EP on Warp, it's just as rough...I think that's part of their aesthetic.

cuz it's NYC? Since when did the rules of electronica pricing make any sense?;) That's one of the dope things about the Detroit scene, and places like Submerge and Record Time, beaucoup dope records for cheap. Support Detroit underground! Buy from Submerge! Peace Nate Nate Harrison Digital Magician Inc. www.digimagician.com nate@digimagician.com 313.994.7316

as opposed to great, crystal clear general-midi-korg-m1-yamaha-equipment-demo production? the production IS great, why don't people understand this? whether or not it has a bit of hiss or the treble is dull is utterly irrelevant. why should you even care? drexciya wouldn't be drexciya if they used big yamaha digital mixers and tc electronic effect processing. when you care more about the s/n ratio than what the music is SAYING, it's the day you go along the orbital techno-wank path and your music becomes worthless cheerio! np - sueno latino (d. may second emotion mix) \/\/\/\/\/+++++''''|||| SALFORD SOUNDS - YOUR'E GRANNY WOULN'DT LIKE IT WE DRINK BEER ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
