quoted 4 lines Hey all, need a favor. It has come to my attention that a certain band>Hey all, need a favor. It has come to my attention that a certain band >"Battery" is working on a side project which they are planning to call >INFLUX. As some of you might know, I have been using the name Influx for >the past 5 years.
hmm...i have been going by "inphlux" for as long as i can remember, and i didnt know either of you existed. i picked the name because i thought it was one that nobody else was using. also one time (after i had chosen my nick) i heard music from a record label called influx that was played on a local drum'n'bass/trip-hop radio show. sure my name is spelled differently, but close enough to be confused by the average rdj. how about this, i dont take you to court for copyright issues if you dont bother me. if i ever plan to release any of my music i'll probably pick another name because i wouldnt want my stuff to be confused with whatever it is you're talking about, not to mention the record label. also on a jazz show i heard some great stuff from Roy Haynes (sp?). he is 75 or so now. his drumming from the 1960's sounds remarkably like some recent tomJ tracks. he was a breakbeat pioneer and i find his drumming very interesting because it involves no samplers or keyboards...check it out inlay cards? come on... "it's the music" - jack dangers also on a local public radio station, the dj played what he said was "brace yourself jason" from lunatic harness. it was a track i've never heard before, full of a great melody and breakbeats. my "brace yourself jason" has a 4-to-the-floor house beat and sounded nothing like what he played. does your "brace yourself jason" have a drum'n'bass flavor? either my record was mispressed or the dj was just a moron and was playing something from the my little beatiful ep or something (which is the only recent paradinas which i don't own, so that could be it)....if anyone can help me out here i'd appreciate it...as i really want to buy whatever it is that he played... inphlux | prephix7
