Any review/comments/ideas on this new, ahem, seemingly monumental release? D+B heads I know seem to reserve comments like "landmark" and "stellar" for relatively few releases. This seems to be one? bpm0@interport.net Peter Becker, Promotions: Retail, DJ Pool Asphodel Records, NYC PO Box 51, Chelsea Station, NY NY 10113 Phone # (212) 965-0265 FAX # (212) 965-0959 http://www.asphodel.com

Gotta say that the rumours are true!!! The new Roni Size / Reprazent release goes down as being the summer release for me! The Bristol crew's stripped down drum'n'bass soundz mash up great pop sensibilities with stunning d'n'b workouts leaving all those wishy washy keyboards and plink plonky piano chords to LTJ Bukem and friends! Given the right direction, this could definitely be the record to bust d'n'b wide open in a mainstream sense in North America... I'm not saying that this a good or bad thing, but expect the North American press to jump all over it! discreetly, l.b.

I'd have to say I found this whole thing rather forulaic and boring. I only listened to about half of it in the shop yesterday and took a pass. It was very minimal to the point of being unwaivering. The breaks are barely chopped at all. The basslines really don't change much within track (or between tracks really). It sounded like workable dancefloor stuff. Slightly funky on a tech-y sparse tip. I'll dance with it but I don't want to bring it home. -- Mark Edward Bowen Warmed Breakdown mb@gettins.bche.uic.edu

I picked this one up last week and wasn't very impressed. There was one stand out track on the LP (for me, atleast). Not to sure about the name, but it had a wicked acousitc bass loop (could be brown paper bag?). The one remix that I've been playing every chance I get on the decks is the grooveriders jeep mix of 'share the fall'. That fucking bass line is sick! Nice vocals too (coming from someone who doesn't like vocals in his D&B). word to the mothership, brock. np: nothing...going out for a 'grit.

yeah this is the one kiss are hammering to death, it's going to be the first roni size release to go top 20 i'm told, but then again they have played the boymerang single to saturation and that hasn't gone anywhere. hopefully kiss will drop this drum'n'bass(with-lots-o-singing)-chillout-bit-between-garage-cheese concept soon..

Yep, just as shit as the remix of shadowboxing? I dropped both of these this weekend and people seemed to like 'em. But the one that wrecked everyone's head (including all the 'normal' type Junglists!) was Rubber Johnny 'drumrolypoly' mixed into the end of a jump up set. Then I dropped the boymerang remix of Technology into the crazy snare rushes and off into the land of the dark and nasty we went. Fun, fun, fun. peace out, brock. np: Dub Syndicate 'Stoned Immaculate'
