Hey,
This week's NME is well worth tracking down, if you get chance.
Included are :
Good reviews of both Vibert's "Big Soup" & U-Ziq's "Lunatic Harness".
A feature on this weekend's Glastonbury Mudbath, erm I mean
'Festival' which includes brief interviews with RDJ & Tom J, along
with excellent caricatures of them both (Tom J sat on the toilet (!)
and RDJ in his tank) :)
A short, but interesting review of the Sonar 97 event (Jeff Mills,
Coldcut, Disjecta, Carl Craig, Squarepusher, Herbert, Richie Hawtin,
Dave Clarke, etc)
And finally... "Aphex Twin and his label REPHLEX have been offered a
day-long stint at the previously rockcentric Reading Festival,
during the August Bank Holiday weekend. Aphex, who's provided the
music for the current advert for computer firm Orange, is still
deciding whether to take up the offer..."
Sadly they let the whole thing down by putting the
ridiculously-overrated & undertalented PRODIGY on the cover, and give
their new album 8/10 :(
Cheers,
Aca
