sade - surrender your love - kenny larkin / stacey pullen mixes (illegal detroit) i don't think many were made of this bootleg pair of remixes but they are scrunchy groovy pieces of atmospheric house in the finest UR jazz tradition, and whether larkin and pullen were really responsible, well i dunno, it doesn't sound particularly like them, and the production is a long way away from larkin's ultra-precise releases on warp. good nonetheless drexciya - the return of drexciya (UR) scheeet hot! drexciya on a minimalist tip, fucking hip-ripping rhythms with the most kick-arse snare going. you just want to chop large planks of wood when you hear this. big tracks - the two on the b side SQUAREPUSHER - BIG LOADA (WARP) jesus holy moses - there aren't enough hours in the day for me to listen to this - squarepusher eps on warp are either loved or hated by most, with some sticking to the more relaxing ez sounds of the lps, but i think this record is great. yes the live track with the garbled vocal breakdown IS on here - FUCKING HELL 7 tracks ov inspired sound engineering or what cheerio np - erm that track again, and again. measuring the milliseconds
