There's loads of really old dodgy stuff around which veers towards old style hardcore, but the newer stuff is all on a hip-hop vibe. The 'Its Not What You Think It Is!?!!' LP is worth picking up, especially on the double CD version as the second CD is packed full of Tek 9 career highlights, many of which are unavailable now. Other Tek 9 reccomendations include the London Sumting doublepack and Bring You Down 12" both on Reinforced (for jungle) and the Is It On? remix doublepack for a variety of other styles including remixes by Carl Craig, Endemic Void, DJ Cam, Nightmares on Wax, and the man behind Tek 9 himself, Dego McFarlane. If you can get hold of it, grab 4 Hero's new one Loveless on promo. Its the best thing I've heard from them yet. Absolutely stunning. For people making jazz comparisons to todays music, and saying that new jazz doesn't cut it, I reccomend this unreservedly... For a full review of the Is It On? doublepack, check out Sammy Rawlins' first ever Jukebox at Look What The Cat Dragged In: http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/7691/JUKEBOX.HTM Lots of new Bristol jungle reviews coming very very shortly. By the way, did anyone out there record Bryan G's '1 in the Jungle' mix on Friday? If you did, please, please, please get in touch as i need a copy of this mix BADLY!! Oh, and anyone know when Roni Size's Essential Mix is gonna be? Sorry to swamp IDM with drum and bass, but the 'breaks' list is shit, so I got off it!! Cheers, GB.
