Well, it seems silly, but with this thread in action is seems a shame not
to mention it.
I am definitely _not_ an RHK fan, but I've been unable to get rid of
Virtual State, for two reasons:
(1) In the first track or two are mixed and EQ'd down creating that strange
trippy effect that you get if you're in the chill room but can still hear
the techno coming through the walls. Very cool.
(2) I don't specifically recall where and how often, but there's this
little slowly-rising-rapidly-falling figure that he uses throughout ...
it's not really much, but for me it's a Big Deal and adds a _lot_ to my
enjoyment of the album as a whole. Such things are called "motives" in
classical music ... I wish more artists would use them!
