I picked up the Quench album last night. It seems to be decent stuff, although i haven't completely digested it. It's definately in the Funkstorung/Funkarma sound, although maybe a little less dsp'ed. (Hey, these guys are Funkstorung rip-offs! heh heh) I don't think i like it as much as the Funkarma material. Speaking of them, their remix on the Quench CD is kinda sub-par I think. Not nearly as great as the 3 Parts on DUB, anyway. Anyone find Quench more interesting than i? I also picked up the Cinematic Orchestra album _Motion_ that came out last year on Ninja Tune. Neato stuff. Kinda like the non-d&b side of Amon Tobin on qualudes except some places like on the first track where they get groovy and fusiony (cool stuff). It's not idm at all, but sounds nice, especially if you like jazz &/or jazzy stuff. jeff ________________________ glueslabs@earthlink.net ICQ: 59895018 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The Cinematic Orchestra - Motion [Ninja Tune] was definitely one of my favorite cds of 99. It's very jazzy, good beats, and gets better everytime I hear it. I'm looking forward to hear more stuff from J Swinscoe. --- Jeffrey Barszcz <glueslabs@earthlink.net> wrote:
