now this is more like it ;) a friend of mine has used sonicworx and said it was pretty good, im a bit of a Soundforge Devotee myself, whats metasynth?

sonicworx artist is astounding; it's like kai's power tools for audio. great modules with names like "cellular morph" and "sonic mumbleizer". also includes "drum loop junglizer"! totally excellent. i plugged a heavy metal guitar riff into cellular morph and got this excellent rhythmic buzzing changing synthy noise. metasynth takes visual information and converts it into sound. you can take an audio file, analyse it into a picture, and then mess with the picture and resynthesize from that, or you can just generate a sound from scratch. really amazing. it's by the guy who did KPT Bryce, and the interface is similar. fave trick: load up drum loop, analyze, apply gaussian filter, resynthesize... weirdness extremis. ---jsd now playing: subsurfing "frozen ants"
