"Homework's" a great album, great fun to listen to.I especially like "Around the World" with its appealing disco-isms. Real marching music! Not exactly what I would call "intelligent" techno in the widely accepted sense, they take a very simple idea and tweak it vertically while others might pursue a more horizontal approach to composition. Peace, JAMES

I haven't read much about the Daft Punk album on this mailing list but anyway, there is some great music on it. Tracks like "Rock'n'roll" has the same wonderful industrial wild-driven fork-on-fridge feeling that I have previously only heard on the "Mururoa" EP. And the strangest thing of all, people like it. Also a few words about "Richard D. James" from a latecomer who waited for the US version and had it shipped to Sweden. I wasn't expecting it to be very good seeing that I didn't like the "Girl/Boy" EP very much but this album is really great. Simple, happy melodies with innovative and varied beats. Contrary to the four last songs on "Girl/Boy", I *don't* think the songs are too short. The endings of them come naturally. Richard is obviously not breaking the unwritten IDM-rule of long songs for the sake of breaking rules and annoying people. He's simply neglecting the rule because it doesn't fit into his concept. Oh and there's a funny song called "Milkman" in which Richard himself sings the witty phrase "I want to suck my milk, from the milkman's wife's tit". ;) Cheers, Johan. ,,, /'~'\ ( 0 0 ) +----------------------------oOOO--(_)--OOOo----------------------------+ Johan Jaatinen Electronic music maker Anika@Info.LiU.SE Oooo.
