As a footnote to the Billy Corgan/Smashing Pumpkins go electronica thread, take a listen to the first seven and last six seconds of their Grammy Nominated smash "1979". You'll have to turn it up a bit to hear it, but there's a nice, minimalist electronic beat goin' on here. I'm willing to give them some credit - it's probably the most interesting thing nominated (at least in pop/rock) this year. -Peter -- ********************************************************** Peter Hagopian Manager, Encoding Department N2K, Inc. http://www.musicblvd.com ***********************************************************

Actually, if you watch the actual grammy show (although I don't suggest you in any way do this) you'll hear a bunch of music bumpers the dust brothers have done especially for the show. They're also responsible for the music in those toe-tapping MSN commercials seen of late as well.. _____ / ,-,_) /,_) (/ RESH Live & Direct from the G-Spot, Orange County, California, USA http://www1.linkonline.net/fresh/fresh.htm

When I first heard those, I thought they were pretty groovin' ... then I walked into the room and saw it was Micro$oft ... then I lost all respect and thought it was a laughable attempt at electronica... awk -- Alexander Kourakos awk@vt.edu
