Hello, While I have seen some reference here to harder stuff, I somehow reckon this really isn't the place for postings on that type of sound.... Was wondering if there was a mailing list more geared towards a harder electronic sound, something akin to DHR type work or the more intense stuff on the Electric Ladyland comps...you know the stuff that shares as much in common with noise and industrial as it does with techno (theirs probably a cute simple word that describes this sound more succinctly, but I don't know it...), or is this the place and it just isn't discussed so often. (Wondering cause I'm just now getting into the sound and was hoping to learn of new talents to watch for and new purchases to acquire....) BTW--recently acquired Digital Catastroph 1997 comp. Features bands on the Japanese label zk being remixed by bands on the DHR label. The remixes are super intense cool, 'specially the last track by Alec Empire (although seems more just a demented mix of his own material than of another song, but heh...) Hearing it you'd think the originals were all power electronics, but after hearing them (their included in the package on a seperate disc) their all garage rock and even a ska track, odd. BTW(2)--As Mick Harris is discussed here--he has a new project out called Matera on Sub/Mission. Collaboration with Mauro Teho Teardo (who used to do nice white-noise type stuff with NWW and Ramleh, but is probably better known for guitar/industrial type project Meathead) and some help by Filer (ex-Cop Shoot Cop). Anyone heard this yet? (sounds promising, hope to find it soon.) NP--NWW: Who Can I Turn To Stereo (one of SStapleton's best, and probably fitting on this list even, but for some reason not. prior bias perhaps?) -- Yours Truly, Jason J.
