confusion is this new: Global Communications,The Way (Deep Dish RMXS),dedicated,12" saw it on the Synaptic list, reviews anyone? I've never heard of this GC release before. Do they(Pritch and Midd) do the remixes? what style? also Coldcut-Atomic Moog is this new as well? Is it trip-hop? Synaptic classifies it as "Techno" any reviews? thanks andy

It's been out for a month or so. Here's the info on the CD5: Global Communication 22.59 The Way/The Deep Dedicated (UK) GLOBA 002CD 11.49 The Way (Secret Ingredients Mix) 11.10 The Deep "The Way" doesn't do a ton for me - housey stuff with vocal samples. "The Deep" is in a similar vein but has more of GC's trademark swirly atmospherics and a nice metallic riff. I'm not sure who Secret Ingredients are, but I know that Deep Dish (who remix "The Deep" on the 12") are a US house duo, so I'm guessing SI isn't a Middleton/Pritchard alias. I think the labels are swapped on the coldcut. Lots of good stuff here, very bright and bouncy. One version, can't remember who (thought it was the original ...?) is the total bomb, fast jazz funk (at house tempo ?). even luke vibert and bedouin ascents versions aren't too dark. Bzzt. Nope, Secret Ingredients is their House face. They put out a couple of 12"s last year on evolution, "Chicago, Chicago", and "New York, New York". Word has it that they're cutting down on the aliases, although there's a new Jedi Knights on the way, "Big Knockers". Incidentally, the (UK) CD of Coldcuts Atomic Moog 2000 comes with an unsurprisingly dull mpeg / quicktime video jam thingy. Music's cool tho' Phil ...I feel laaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAve...
