FINE, here goes: anyone here no know of any artists who were approached to do a FAX project and turned it down? I like FAX, but at times Pete and the boys can get a little boring as they noodle around with their old analogue EML synthis and whatnot. It'd be interesting to know if someone like RDJ, ORB, GC, WOOB and other artists, who make great ambient tracks in one tenth the time Pete sometimes takes to get his ambient thing going, declined an offer for a FAX project. Yes, ambient is to be slow and mellow and (fill in your own adjective). But I wouldn't be surprised if an artist like Mark Pritchard said "Well pete, we love doing slow tracks and all, but we don't care to take 30mins of CD space before we get our listener's attention, so we'll pass" just curious b/c Pete N does get some great talent (i.e. J Sharp, D. Moufang, Tetsuo I, among others) and sometimes you wonder where the talent goes as you've heard your 50th minute of the same filter sweep. i can see it now FILA BRAZILLIA AND PETE NAMLOOK do the slowest trip hop/down tempo music known to man. 808 at 20bpm! it could work. ciao gil on now: InnerVisions 'organized crime' (mo' Wax)

I don't know of any myself but I've heard of quite a few people who were turned down *by Fax*. And not just unknowns either!

Let's not forget Atom Heart, Ritchie Hawtin, Klaus Schulze, Bill Laswell, Ramin, Mixmaster Morris...and many others of course. and sometimes you

Aaah..but it's a damn good filter sweep at that! :) You might want to check out Ozoona, Amp, Redeye..just a few recent releases that are more than filter sweeps...hehehe... I'm getting to the point where I'm actually being entertained by criticisms of Fax these days.
