HEY Blake,
I just bought a Novation BassStation synth. I did NOT buy it to make
ACID music. I bought it to be used as a "small" MIDI keyboard
controller. Sure you do not have a full set of keys, but the BS does
transmit polyphonic data (regardless of being a monophonic synth), it
send quite a bit of MIDI controls, not all and can play all 8 octaves
at the touch of a button even though it only has what 20some
keys?(sorta like the switch on the Roland SH-101 that chooses your
octave) So what I am saying is save yourself the space and MONEY and
knock out two birds with one stone. just get the BS! Its what I did
and now all I will buy is rackmount gear. Small studio that can be
portable if I play live some day. I know you are sitting there
knodding your head saying yeah right, you won't be able to just buy
rack gear from now on Gil, that's probably true, but I like to
condense space as much as possible and the BassStation acts as a great
controller to do so.
Hope this helps and if you have any q's on the BAssStation I will try
to answer them,
gil
