For those who haven't heard the new Boy/Girl ep by the Aphex Twin and since everyone is talking about Richard singing on his new album I thought I'd post a sample of his lyrics from the "Milk Man" (track#2 on Boy/Girl ep). "I wish the milkman would deliver my milk, in the morning. I wish the milkman would deliver my milk, when I'm yawning." "I would like some milk from the Milkman's Wife's tits." (repeat) -Richard D. James Enjoy! -Joe Etherworld Publishing & Recordings P.O. Erm . . . Now That's What I Call Intelligent Dance Music ! ! ! ! ! Wonder if all that time in the studio bunker has addled young Richard's brains . . . either that or his head has been turned by some Dangerous Poetry Reading . . . I ask myself: Who is The Milkman? What is the emblematic function of the delivery of the milk? I note that the recurrence of the Milkman leitmotif builds up a repetitive recursive resonance reminscent of the comings and goings of the days and seasons . . . Is the 'yawning' a cri de coeur at an Unfeeling Godless Universe? And are the wishes the wishes of humankind struggling vainly in an Absurd World? What is the Deeper Connotative significance of the Milkman's Wife? And furthermore where do her tits fit into the Scheme of things? And . . . Is he bonkers? Or what? alan/beyondthebristolsound

It's the _dancing_ which is supposed to be intelligent, not the lyrics. As long as you dance intelligently, then the lyrics just seem ironic, or provide contrast to said dancer's intellectual faculties.

Come on now - Deconstruct the text properly! It's a mixture of eroticism and religion, the no-longer-shocking modern scandal. God and sex. Sex because of that milk ad series presenting once-respected (well, maybe not) individuals with suggestive white liquid on their lips. I always suspected that Marketing Departments were a haven for budding geniuses! Now the God part. The milk is white. White is the color of the whale. The whale represents God. A dead white male wrote about a a dead white male after a dead white whale. Which brings us back to Moby, who is never mentioned on this list. Oh, God, I broke THE RULE! I'm off to crucify myself (never can figure out how to get the last nail in.*) Zenon M. Feszczak IDM Martyr on now: woobwoobwoobwoob (nyanyanya)
