I would say that at the moment the best place to visit in London is the
new Smallfish shop in Shorditch (Old Street).
The shop has one of the best selections of CD and Vinyl, and by all
accounts this selection will be increasing considerably. The shop is
also open 7 days a week, and until 8pm on weekdays. On top of all that
they have really friendly service from some very clued up people...
They also do mail order...
Oh and with all the mails about Vertical Form I should also mention
Atlas (as the guy who runs VF works there) down in Soho, they have a
great selection also, but more vinyl based rather than CD (if thats your
bag)
end of advertisement...
I think its time for Ernie's IDMFAQ (www.idmfaq.org) to have a section
added about record shopping in (delete as appropriate) London/New
York/Paris/etc..., as this question comes up quite regularly :)
