I've been very critical about Cylob's output lately. Ever since I heard
the Kinesthesia projects, as well as Cylob's first 12", "Industrial Folk
Songs" I was extremely disappointed with the lack of imagination and
musical depth that his releases had. And as a result, I got a fair amount
of slack for my criticism here. Now, I haven't got a copy of the new
Cylob, "Cylobian Sunset," but I realized I had to hear it. I must say, I
was extremely impressed with what I heard. This is the first Chris
Jeffs release I've actually enjoyed. The noise to synth ratio is
comfortable enough to make the disc listenable, but still makes the
hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. Can't say much else, as I'm
only going on a first impression, but it is a good one.
