Just picked up the August Future Music, and i absolutely love the black dog track! ...that nice otherwordly feel, sharp drum programming...perfect! Does anyone know if '...Adverts' is anything like this? The interview with Ken Downie kind of pissed me off though...all that crap about Phillip Glass and counterpoint...and then when he said that their music wasn't 4/4 it made me wonder if he wasn't deaf! ....of course, then i listened to 'Spanners' and it all went away...:)

Well, strictly speaking their music isn't purely 4/4 time. They mix several timings in tracks. The rhythm may have an underlying 4/4 kick but then they layer other fill in stuff with other timings which makes it layered. That's what gives it its signature sound. everyone's always talking about the tricky rhythm patterns The Black Dog uses... _ -robert | |___ ____ ____ _____ | |_ \ / -__/ / _/ | _ \ __________ |_____/ \___\ |_| | |__/ / -studio- \ _________________________________ |_| http://icse1.ucsd.edu/~rcurlee/ \
